For those of you in employment, a scheme exists where you can be paid part of your monthly salary in CHILDCARE VOUCHERS.
There are a number of organizations who can set up such a scheme for your employer.

What are the benefits?
For You – you will not pay Tax and National Insurance on the first £243.00 per calendar month of your salary paid in vouchers.
For your employer – they will not pay Employer’s National insurance on the amount of salary. They do have to pay a monthly admin fee to the company issuing the vouchers, but there is still a net SAVING for your employer, for doing very little.
For the nursery – you pay us in vouchers at the beginning of the month, rather than standing order. We redeem these with the supplier.
This is a scheme set up by the Government, which very few employees and employers utilize – it is free government money.

B: NURSERY EDUCATION GRANT – Children over 3 only
Nursery Education Grant is an allowance provided by the government to assist parents in the cost of their childcare.
Terms and conditions of the grant funding.
The grant operates for 3 ‘terms’ of up to 14 weeks per term based on the Essex school Year. These are as follows:

Summer Term April to June 4th Birthday prior to 31st. March
3rd Birthday prior to 31st. March
Autumn Term Sept to Nov 4th Birthday prior to 31st. August
3rd. Birthday prior to 31st. August
Spring Term Jan to March 4th Birthday prior to 31st. December
3rd Birthday prior to 31st. December
What can be claimed ?
You are eligible to claim up to a maximum of 5 sessions per week of 2.5 hours per session. You can claim 2 sessions per day i.e. if you child attends a full day at nursery, you can claim 1 session for the morning and 1 for the afternoon.
You can only claim according to your sessions at the nursery e.g. if you child attends for 1 full day and 1 morning, you can claim 3 sessions. If your child attends for 3 full days per week, you can claim the maximum of 5 sessions etc.
How do I make my claim ?
We will send a form, prior to each term, to all those parents who are eligible. You must complete this and return to us in order that we may make a claim to Essex County Council.
How will I receive the Grant ?
For all parents, the grant is deducted from their fee calculations. This may mean that during the year, your fee rate will be reduced when your child is eligible for the grant.
Can I share my claim with other Nurseries and Playgroups ?
You can claim up to your maximum of 5 sessions per week in more than 1 facility e.g. you may wish to claim for 3 sessions at nursery and the remaining 2 at playgroup, provided that you do sufficient sessions at each setting. If you are going to share your claim, this information is requested on the claim form that we will send you (you will receive a similar form from your playgroup). It is up to parents to ensure that they do not claim more than the maximum of 5 sessions per week.
