Our Tiny Tot Unit and Pre-School Day Nursery are open from 08.00 in the morning until
06.00 in the evening, 52 weeks a year, offering a structured day's activity for children
up to 5 years of age. Established in 1989 and under new management since November
2004, a family run Baby Care and Nursery operate from purpose built units in a delightful
"green fields" location on the edge of the beautiful village of Ashdon in North Essex,
England. The historic University town of Cambridge, Haverhill in Suffolk, the M11
motorway and the Market town of Saffron Walden in Essex are all less than twelve
miles away
making the Nursery ideally placed.
"We aim to provide the children in our care with a safe, happy and homely environment where they
have the opportunity to explore and develop their individuality through discovery, experience and
learning".
Staff
The Staff are highly qualified and staff to children ratios range from 1:3 for the youngest to 1:8 for the very eldest.
Our last Ofsted Inspection was on the 13/06/05. We received four out of five areas as outstanding and because we received one area as good, we received a good over all.
Here are the areas and marks.

Helping Children be Healthy Outstanding
Protecting children from harm or neglect and keeping them safe Outstanding

*We needed to update our planning and record keeping for the over threes which we have successfully achieved since the inspection.
Our full report can be requested from the nursery or can be read on www.ofsted.gov.uk
We are very pleased to announce that in May 2009 the nursery received The National Day Nursery Quality Counts Award. This is the Investors in Children Kite mark, an accreditation helping to improve quality through a rigorous self-assessment process.
Gaining Quality Counts is a special achievement and illustrates that the nursery is working above and beyond the government requirements.
Being awarded the status brings a host of benefits, including increased staff motivation, which in turn helps to improve care and education for children and encourages staff to reflect on practice and advance the quality of care. Working towards Quality Counts, and then working to maintain the kite mark after the award is given, will encourage staff to reflect on their practice and their professional skills, and advance the quality of the care they offer to your children.
